We were that couple tonight.
Seated in a busy down town restaurant. A buzz of activity around us. Total city atmosphere. All sorts of people.
I was shyly smiling….He was looking profound….we giggled…..he had a tear in his eye at one stage….big gesturing…me taking a self concious sip of wine….
But.
No one would have guessed what we were talking about.
It wasn’t obvious at all. We were throwing around ideas, concepts, random thoughts, and hopes for our new life group.
I suppose….in those magical moments…i fully realize why I married who I did. I hear him speak about his ideas and I’m always left a bit speechless. He says things like no one else.
It’s complex. I can’t say i don’t sometimes wish we were normal……that we went out for the evening and talked about ourselves….that I was flattered off my feet….but yet…in that one moment..I have to say hand on heart I wouldn’t’ have it any other way.
THIS…is us. This is real.
