Back from Africa (proper).
Hi I (Jon) am now back from our Brief African tour of Kenya, Malawi and Tanzania. I am very happy to be back with the family in South Africa and more news will follow shortly regarding the trip.
Briefly we connected the Owens family in Tanzania, who are missionarieswho spent time at FountainVineyard just prior to our arrival. But previously to that, they had been close friends with Dave Gotts in Vancouver Canada, maybe the world is small place or maybe God is putting connections together, I don'tknow lets watch this space.
After this we embarked on runninga 6 day conference for leadership training for the Vineyard pastors and leaders in Malawi and Mozambique. The conference took place at Monkey bay, and main speakers were CostaMitchell, Head of Vineyard Africa and Dave Pedersen Senior Pastor of FountainVineyard. Howeveri did get 30 minutes of fame and a chance to speak myself.

American Blessings
We were very blessed by ateam of americans that came to help at HDC, in inclemantweather they blessed the ministry at HDC by , making the vegetable garden operational, painting murals, providing trainingfrom teachers and staff , blessing the children with a library and much love support and advice.
Many thanks goes out to them and we hope to see as many of them again as possible.
Day of Kindness
The day of kindness at HDC saw over 200 volunteers from PE and the American mission teams undertake major works of charity and kindness in Walmer Township and other surroundingareas.
My team was the responsiblefor the recommissioningof a classroom which had to this point been used as a storage room at HDC. They worked tirelesslyand exceptionally well and within 3 hours had transformedthe room to a working state.

Tucaway Academy Assemblies
Steve can rejoice because Jon is doing schools work We have been privilegedto be able to take the weeklyassemblies at an home schooling Academy ran by a family in our Cell group. Which works with difficult (behavioraland disabilities and everyday students.
This is going to be an ongoing relationship in which we provide the school with some pastoral support as well as weeklyassemblies, and children from the school will be volunteering with the HDC aftercare.
