A stunning place and a stunning picture. Bitter sweet memories though this is where I found out that both christine and my mom still had serious cancers. Suddenly you feel a very long way from home.
I am writing to you to ask a huge favor of your organisation.
We hav recently set up a charity to help improve the quality of life for those working on the Vizara rubber plantation in northern Malawi. Our first project is to set a library within the community centre which is run for the benefit of Vizara employees and their families. My husband is involved on the plantation and I have visited it many times and am always astounded at how little the villagers have and how limited the teaching materials and resources are.
We are intending to put together a bilingual library which involves collecting/buying all the books, categorize them all, covering them all, put in a place a proper system for checking them in and out and get it shipped to Vizara. The library will operate out of their community centre and the Trustees of the Vizara charitable trust, who are based on the plantation, will staff it, make sure it is properly run and looked after and supported financially.
I have been trying to draft a brochure to give to potential donors. If you could let me have your e-mail address I will forward you a copy of it. Unfortunately many of the photographs I have taken are very amateurish and I wondered if I may ask permission to use this photos in the brochure.
